(1) Adjust the front wheel toe in appropriately. Incorrect toe-in will increase the rolling resistance of the car and increase fuel consumption. Regularly check the toe-in value and compare it with the normal value. If the value is different, adjust it.
(2) The wheel hub bearing is well lubricated and adjusted appropriately. Poor lubricating grease on the wheel hub and improper adjustment of bearing clearance can increase driving resistance.
(3) Pay attention to the changes between the front and rear axles and the frame. The displacement or bending deformation between the front and rear axles and the frame makes the vehicle unable to maintain vertical or horizontal position. When the car is driving, it leans towards one side, causing the tires to slide and rub against the ground, thereby increasing driving resistance and significantly increasing fuel consumption.
(4) Pay attention to whether the steel plate spring is damaged. Damaged steel plate springs result in poor driving balance, increased driving resistance, and increased fuel consumption.
(5) Adjust the brake clearance appropriately. If the brake clearance is too small, the resistance increases, and the throttle must be turned up to drive, which will increase fuel consumption; If the gap is too large, the braking will not be effective, affecting safety. Adjusting the brake clearance to avoid brake drag and excessive or small clearance also plays an important role in the sliding performance of the car.
(6) Pay attention to the working condition of the clutch. The working condition of the clutch is poor, and during the transmission of torque, phenomena such as "shaking", "slipping", and "incomplete separation" may occur, resulting in a decrease in transmission efficiency and an increase in fuel consumption.
(7) Pay attention to whether the tire pressure is normal. The tire type used should be the same. According to statistics, a 30% decrease in tire pressure compared to the specified value results in a 33% reduction in tire service life and a 6% increase in fuel consumption.
There are several points regarding the maintenance and fuel consumption of car chassis
