Halogen headlights
Halogen lamp is actually a special kind of incandescent lamp, the principle is that when the current passes through the resistance, it will heat up, and when the temperature is high enough, it will emit blackbody radiation with a wavelength in the visible light band. Halogen lamps generally have two kinds: tungsten iodide lamp and tungsten bromine lamp, the principle is the same. When the incandescent lamp is lit, although the filament temperature does not exceed the melting point and boiling point of tungsten, there will still be a small amount of tungsten volatilized at high temperatures. When the volatilized tungsten atoms encounter the cooler bulb shell, they will condense and precipitate, and over time the bulb shell will accumulate a layer of blackened tungsten film. Ordinary incandescent lamp used for a long time the shell black is the reason. If some iodine is filled in the bulb, when the bulb is lit, the iodine will be volatilized into a gas, and the iodine vapor will react with the cooler tungsten, generating a low boiling point compound - tungsten iodide, so that the tungsten precipitated by the bulb shell will be volatilized. Tungsten iodide gas will decompose at high temperatures. When the tungsten iodide gas encounters the filament, it decomposes, leaving the tungsten on the filament, while the iodine continues to be free between the filament and the housing in the form of a gas, and when it comes to the bulb housing again, it will react with the tungsten on the housing... In this way, on the one hand, the filament continues to volatilize tungsten to the bulb housing, and on the other hand, the iodine continues to transport tungsten back to the filament, so that the speed of volatilization consumption of the filament is greatly reduced, and the lamp life is extended. Therefore, tungsten iodide lamps can be used to make very powerful incandescent lamps, such as 1000 watts. If you do not add halogen, ordinary incandescent lamp if you do so much power, the life will be very short, difficult to be practical. Halogen lamps have been widely used in the field of automotive lighting.
Xenon lamp
Xenon lamp HID is the abbreviation of High intensity Discharge lamp, which can be called heavy metal lamp or xenon lamp. The principle is to fill the UV-cut UV-resistant quartz glass tube with a variety of chemical gases, most of which are Xenon and iodide inert gases, and then pressurizes the 12-volt DC voltage of the vehicle to 23,000 volts of current via a booster Ballast. The xenon electron ionization in the quartz tube is stimulated by a high voltage shock amplitude, and a light source is generated between the two electrodes, which is the so-called gas discharge. The white super arc light produced by xenon can improve the color temperature of the light, similar to the sun's light during the day, and the current flow required for HID work is only 3.5A, the brightness is three times that of traditional halogen bulbs, and the service life is 10 times longer than that of traditional halogen bulbs. Xenon lamps have been widely used in automotive lighting.
Fog lamp
It is installed in the front of the car at a slightly lower position than the headlights, and is used to illuminate the road when driving in rain and fog. Because of the low visibility in fog, the driver's line of sight is limited. The light can increase the running distance, especially the light penetration of the yellow anti-fog lamp is strong, which can improve the visibility of the driver and the surrounding traffic participants, so that the coming car and pedestrians find each other at a distance.
